The position will focus on software engineering best practices within Cloud Platform Engineering, with deep expertise in GCP. The successful candidate will act as a GCP Subject Matter Expert, providing guidance and support to other engineers. The role will:
- Take the endorsed architecture patterns and be responsible for design, build and implementation of Cloud Platforms solutions with technical leadership in design, coding, and configuration.
- Drive the discussion, take the leadership and provide guidance to enable our Client to lead the industry in GCP Platform Engineering best practice and support business outcomes.
- Take the lead to remediate vulnerabilities and security issues within GCP Platform and support other teams
Essential Experience
- Google Cloud Platform technologies and services
- Security and compliance Engineering concepts
- Proven experience within GCP building and supporting secure code pipelines, CI/CD, using gitlab
- Knowledgeable in multiple programming languages and an expert in some – golang preferred
- Demonstrated experience in developing and managing software/platform solutions
- Stakeholder engagement and relationship building at all levels of the organisation.
- Drive new ways of working (Agile) across broader teams.
- Excellent communication skills, including ability to adjust communication to suit intended audience.
- Maintains a positive and professional approach during challenging times
- Demonstrated history of Influencing and driving self-initiated outcomes.
- Demonstrated collaboratively, shares ideas and information readily with team and others to drive optimal outcomes.

Commercial & Strategic Priorities
- Working at a senior level across the Engineering team, collaborating with architects, engineers, and customer experience experts
- Thought leadership and in depth experience implementing best practice automation on cloud, and DevOps engineering techniques, to design and implement secure, simple, and impactful solutions
- Software Engineering designer and implementor where you champion innovative coding solutions and take the teams around you on the journey of software development
- Expert in Cloud Platforms technologies, primarily GCP but not limited too.
