LinkedIn has released the 25 most desirable employers in Australia for 2018. The rankings are based on the online behaviour of 8 million job seekers and professionals who make up LinkedIn’s Australian user base. Here’s the full list – with links to available jobs!
LinkedIn’s list for 2018 constitutes a bit of shakeup compared to last year. Wesfarmers has tumbled from #5 to #22, while Suncorp, Vodafone, AMP and Woolworths have dropped out of the Top 25 entirely.
Meanwhile, big players like Commonwealth Bank and Deloitte Australia managed to improve their ranking over the past 12 months, jumping from #4 to #2 and #8 to #3, respectively. New additions to the Top 25 include Optus (at #21), Dell (at #24) and EY which has rocketed to tenth place.
Despite the changes in ranking, the list is once again dominated by financial services groups, telecommunication firms and professional services just like last year.
PwC was ranked #1, which it attributes to the implementation of flexible working in all areas. The company offers 18 weeks parental leave to all workers – regardless of their length of employment. It also has a Lego room “to encourage collaboration”, which sounds brilliant.
“It’s not any one thing, it’s a composit of many things which work exceptionally well,” Dorothy Hisgrove, PwC Australia partner and Human Capital leader, told Business Insider.
“For me personally, and I think for our employees as a whole, the flexibility arrangements for our people are a key, especially because our leadership group are obliged to accommodate our employees’ preferred hours.
“That is very much about building trust with out people and when we build trust within work force it is reciprocated.”
All companies in the top 25 reward their employees well: birthday leave days, yoga and mindfulness classes, wellbeing programs, onsite childcare and an open dress code are all common practice.
